Just incase you didn't understand my post... because it seems like you didn't...

#GBATemp does not use numbers on the roms when they are released and hasn't done for a while now.

GBATemp's website forum has been offline for a week or more so how could i possibly have checked that?

I just took it as a given that the games would be added since i saw nothing wrong with them when i checked them over for dupes etc. I hadn't updated since the turn of the new year and i felt that an update was due after spending the last week getting back into my uk routine. It wouldn't be the first time i've pre-empted you updating to save myself time, after all, what is the point of putting out an update only to have to do it again a few hours later when you decided to add them to the site. So i made a mistake, boo hoo, we all make mistakes. Up until a few hours ago you had the wrong version number for the old mario rom on the site, so i'm not the only person who does it. The difference is, you can correct your mistake, i can't.

Vince - can you re-number ROMs once they are in the DAT? If so, XXXX looks like a likely candidate to me Smile

Ross - Why not just add the ROM on this occasion (as a special one-off never-to-be-repeated once-in-a-lifetime-offer only)? Saves all the bitching - even though I know you guys love each other really (not in a gay way though - or maybe....).

I know I am a pain in the ass about this - but I have followed/used gba-renamer since the early days. And if it stays as it is it will mess up my collection (I have all on the GBA-Renamer list you see).

Renumber it = Total rom rescan for every user to get the right name.
Remove it = Total rom rescan to get it out of your sets.
Replace it with a new rom = gbaren will assume you already have the rom i replace it with and delete it or ignore it because it'll think it's a dupe.

Either way, you would all have to rescan every rom in your sets, which isn't my problem really because i stopped caring a long time ago.

It's nice to see how quickly some people turn face when a simple statement is made. Yeah i stopped caring, why? Cause i get complaints from people that i don't update fast enough every other day. When i do update faster than ph, i get it wrong and i get complaints from people because of that. I can't do anything to fix it without the almighty set rescan, and i get bitched at because of that too. I've had opinions given to me left right and center as to what i should do to fix it but it just doesn't work that way, the only way to get around that mistake is a total rescan even if you did remove the rom yourself. I'm not asking for everyone to say thanks to me, but believe me it's appreciated when people do catch me off guard like that. They go out of their way to find me online and say thanks for the work i do. What i would appreciate though, is everybody who sees fit to tell me i'm slacking or i've messed up to just hold back and stfu for once instead of getting on my case about it and then maybe i'll find the motivation to start caring and deal with things again.

I guess the final irony of it all is, Raffles, you were the one asking so much on this forum, when the updates were coming, if i've noticed errors that you found, that kinda stuff, you were even the main voice trying to get things started when i shut the site down earlier in the year! I've paid attention, i've tried to answer the requests for the most part and i think i did pretty good. Just remember, i do this all for free... so i think i've been more than accomodating to the requests. But when the ship hits the iceberg... your the first to jump into the water...

If you can't understand why i seem so pissed, ask yourself this.. if you were me and i were you, would you want me to ask you TWICE to renumber it before you even had the chance to reply?

Woah dude!

If you think I am 'having a go' then maybe you should go back and read ALL my posts again. I think you may be caught off-guard once more (pay attention to the ones that not only ask questions - but also offer help with the DAT - and even say how much I appreciate the time and effort you put in!).

It's sad that you see this as a personal attack - but fact is the GBA-Renamer DAT no longer corresponds with PH. So I have had to swith to ClrMamePro and use PH's DAT. This is the only reason for my change.

Maybe you need to back back to Canada and get your lady to chill you out a bit more Wink

Yes people offer to help, including you, but i don't need help updating, i need people so get off my case about a screw up which isn't that big a fucking deal. Apparently that is too much to ask, since some people just don't wanna let it go. Yes you said thanks before, i also said thats not what i'm looking for, just a break from all the perssure i'm getting over a simple mistake. Anyway it's all regardless...

Oh and maybe you need to shut the fcuk right up about my future wife. She is nothing to do with this, so leave her out of it. I don't need to chill out, i need people to stop pissing me around about something insignificant.
