Somebody Please figure out the SD interface thingy all I want is SaveStates and I would be perfectly happy with my GBAMP.
A few other things that work on GBAMP SD that should be added here and the Wiki:
Cologne - Most games work great! No rom too big
MSXAdvance - Lots of games work! Very few too large
PCEAdvance (v7.5 doesn't work try a recent previous version) - The few games that are 128/129kb work Try Boxyboy |

At the bottom of the Download page, on the SD side, there's a downloaded Dated for 2006-12-06.
Says that it has to do with the GBA Movie Card SD Version Boot NDS Update Program.
"It is a special program to update GBA Movie Card SD Version (M2-SD) to let it run _Boot_mp_xxxx.nds."
I don't know what this means, should I follow the instructions? |

WHAT?! CRUD! I just ordered a GBAMP CF too! I suppose that will have more compatibility, but this is just annoying!
Sorry for anger, but this is really annoying for me. _________________

| From what I can read in the info, it's about being able to run this with Passme or something, using a _boot file ? |

This is what it says for anyone who doesn't want the 22 MB download 'cause of the Moonshell setup:
| GBAMP SD NDS wrote: | It is a special program to update GBA Movie Card SD Version (M2-SD) to let it to run _BOOT_MP_xxxx.nds.
...
NOTE: This program can only be used to update GBA Movie Card SD Version (M2-SD) (English Version). Updated M2-SD can only boot _BOOT_M3_1122.nds or later version.
NOTE: In io_m2sd.rar is example source code to interface M2-SD. You can use it in your nds programs. Please name your nds program to _*******.nds(* is any letter) and copy it to root directory of SD card to run it on M2-SD. |
So now the source is availible, we should be able to do stuff with it. _________________

I hope I get a ds for christmas. |

They included the source assuming that people could now boot the DS into DS mode with the _BOOT_MP_1122.nds included. However, in the quote above, it mentions both _BOOT_MP_1122.nds AND _BOOT_M3_1122.nds
EDIT: We should be able to use the source for GBA emulators, too. Looking forward to SMB3 and Link's Awakening!
I have had no luck with any of these. I will now assume it needs a passthrough device, as the instructions are listed below.
| Quote: | | And whats the deal with including pocketnes version 9.97 and that repair.nes file? |
They included that particular version (with free broken splash-screen) because the newer versions cannot return to the GBAMP SD properly. Neither can this one. It can reboot to the GBAMP menu, but acts like the SD card has nothing on it. I pulled out the GBAMP accidentally while on the main menu, and when I moved from item to item, the background changed to one of black with yellow stripes and all the pictures were black squares with green stripes (horizontally). Dunno ho that helps, just thought I'd include it. The update in question also contains the .htm file update, but removes the ability to find the version through the Setup menu.
All in all, when my MML arrives, I'll test my newly updated GBAMP SD to see if it actually DOES bbot to _BOOT_MP_1122.nds
Hope that helped people. _________________

Note that there is no working sector write code for the GBAMP SD at the time of this post. I won't bother enhancing my emulators until there is write support. _________________ Here come the fortune cookies! Here come the fortune cookies!

Just thought I'd update anyone with a GBAMP SD on what they can and can't do.
GBA
Commercial GBA games will NOT work, as in the GBAMP CF. Homebrew applications will work, as long as they do not try to write to the SD card, and they have the special SD reading code. As normal, there is a size limit for applications that can run on the GBA/DS of 256 KiloBytes.
DS
All homebrew that reads using the SD reading code and/or is under 4MegaBytes should work. Very few apps and games are over 4MB, so you should have no problem playing them. Because there is no writing code, you cannot save in your games (both DS and GBA).
To use these, select GBA files from the built-in game menu, but DS files are a different story. You must rename these files to _BOOT_MP_xxxx (xxxx being any number over 1121. No decimal places. Note that the file with the highest number will take priority over all other DS files).
For example, if I have two files called _BOOT_MP_1122.nds and _BOOT_MP_1124.nds, the second file will load.
To use DS homebrew, you must have a working passthrough device. Max Media Launcher works fine (I have one ), others should work. PassMe 2 will NOT work! It requires SRAM, which the GBAMP SD does not have.
Hope that was clear enough and helped a couple members. Please feel free to add this to the wiki or tell me other stuff to add. _________________

| I dont know if you know this or not, but ps2aich has a boot setup and dldi that allows you to multiboot just about any homebrew, however, there is still no write support! This is driving me insane, please, dear god, someone make a dldi with write support, i'll do it myself if i have to, if someone would tell me what i need to do. |

If you mean for GBA homebrew, then no, unless the program supports libfat and doesn't write to the card, in which case it can be DLDI patched.
If you mean DS homebrew, then reading is supported, but not writing. ps2aich has been improving the GBAMP SD DLDI patch for a while, and he has got it working with most major homebrew, such as MoonShell, DSOrganise and Nitro Hax. (OK, maybe that's not major, but it was still on the testing list.) However, nobody has yet managed to successfully write to an SD card in the GBAMP SD. _________________
