Yep, if you need to ask me something or want to discuss whatever I've got on my page, then use this thread. (Don't give answers to the quizzes though ppl.)
How to make a quiz:
1. Get some good quality images without any watermarks (png is prefered). It's best if you can make/dump the images yourself.
2. Name the images 01-XX, like 01.png, 02.png, etc.
3. Make a list of the game names, and make sure you get ALL the known alternative titles on it. Remember to have the image numbers in the list.
4. Pack it with .zip, .rar or similar.
5. Mail it to me on mikehaggar99 (at) gmail (dot) com

I'd like to convert singstar DVDs to ultrastar format!
I just bought and using the mh-spake.exe extracted the
*mib *.ipu and *xml files from PAK files on the DVD
under linux and windows.
This part work perfectly.
Using
javac -classpath ./;jdom.jar ss2us.java
java -cp ./;jdom.jar ss2us fichero_con_la_canción fichero_destino
I could under linux convert the *xml files to *txt files,
Which I guess worked as it should.
but I fail to understand how to use the MFAudio.exe
to convert the *mib files, which I guess could be
due to lack of knowledge and that I do not know
the correct interleave.
Could someone give me a hint on how the correctly
convert SINGSTAR ROCKS and SINGSTAR SWEDISH HITS
to ultrastar format?

|

Hi,
I read the MFAudio guide and followed the instructions, but every tune has gaps in it, making it unusable. Is this a common problem or have I missed a trick ?
In the guide it states :-
4. Problems:
- Some files will NOT convert correctly, this includes most if not all music files from SingStar (original), they will have lots of "holes" and junk in the audio.
Can this tool convert Singstar music, or not ?

There was problems with the original SingStar (aka SingStar 1 or SingStar without anything else in the title).
If you get gaps in the music remchan might have failed or the interleave value might be wrong.
What SingStar game are you testing it with? _________________ http://haggar.pocketheaven.com/ |

Hi, i'm trying to remplace the original songs of singstar for others songs. I have been able to remplace the music and the lyrics of the melody.xml but when load the game it loads the original lyrics with the custom music. I think that the lyrics of the xml are irrelevant for the game and it load the movie.idx that are in the same folder. My questions are:
How I convert from xml to .idx?
Where is the lyrics that the game loads?
How I remplace the movies of the songs?
How convert from .avi to .ipu?
Thanks you very much!! and sorry for my bad english, i'm spanish
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hola!
Muchisimas gracias!! |

Hmm... I got no idea.
I'll take a look at the idx file some day though.
And there's currently no way to convert the movies. Nobody has figured out the ipu format yet.
you could try to ask on some of the spanish UltraStar forums though. _________________ http://haggar.pocketheaven.com/ |

The idx files seems to be some kind of sync, movie (key)frame locations or lookup table files for the movie files.
Don't think it got anything to do with the lyrics. _________________ http://haggar.pocketheaven.com/ |

Hello!
I'm have been away for a long time but I'm back one more time.
For rebuild the packet you use this sentece: paker.py -k directory file.pak and run without problems.
Nobody has discovered the format of ipu files but this is the lowest important. I need know the form to view the lirics with the correct tones in the screen, but when I change the original files for my own files the lirics no change, are the same that before I modify.
You know where are the real lirics that game uses for output in the screen?
Are compiled in other location and not in melody.xml?
Help me! I desesperated with this...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hola!

They should be in melody.xml.
Have you replaced all instances of the lyrics in the xml file? _________________ http://haggar.pocketheaven.com/ |
