|
|
I have actually written a little rom renamer program (from the ground up) to replace the defunct GBA/GBC/WSX renamers. I've also included the NDS as well.
Maybe if enough people bug me - I'll 'beta' it out (I know it still needs some work - I use it - and it works for me - but, I know it's limitations). _________________ http://releases.pocketheaven.com

Raffles I would like to try it if you would release it. I basically want something that can rename nds games. Here's how I name mine by hand and a program that could do this automatically would save me so much hassle.
Here is an example of how I like to name files
0696 - Brain Boost - Gamma Wave (U).nds |

That is possible with my program - as you can define the naming convention(s).
That particualr ROM would be renamed "0696 - Brain Boost - Gamma Wave (U)(Legacy).nds" in default.
It also has .zip support (.rar is coming - when I get time ), country and ROM type exclusion, include & exclude files etc. Basically, everything the GBA-Renamer could do - and more besides.
I'll have a real look at it this weekend - iron out some the more serious problems - then put it up for beta.

| Raffles for your program can it work on just the .nds files or do they have to be zipped. I'm hoping it can just work on the .nds files and doesn't need them to be zipped. Thanks for putting more work into your program. |

It 'did' only look at zips as the source - but I can make it look at anything you like.
I'll put some work in to it this weekend and let you all know when/if it's ready.

Perhaps, but for my collection that was all I cared about. I would suggest going with Raffles' when he releases it as I don't have as many features. |

I had a look - and decided to completely re-write the DAT handling routines (speeding them up 4 fold).
I've done most of it - just a little bit more to do. Should be beta-able this weekend (fingers crossed).

Very nearly almost. Here's a little list of things I need to sort...
From my 'To Do' list
=============
Program updater (if one has been downloaded)
Settings/Zipping/Split - Can't handle more than one ROM per zip file (Unzips & finds it - just doesn't re-zip/process the extra ones)
Write full error handler?
Recurse sub-directory?
"One of the things that keeps getting more difficult is that all the renamed ROMs are stored in one directory. It would be nice to split them, e.g. on a country basis (Japanese, US, other), or perhaps on a range basis"
Error on time-out with dat update. Double check 'update' when it times out!
Make main screen bigger/sizeable?
Add 'print' button to rom list (have/miss etc) *** DONE VIA NOTEPAD FOR NOW!
Add RAR support
Proxy use (for internet updating)
===============================================
And that's just the bits I've found  _________________ http://releases.pocketheaven.com

Not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean a proxy for internet connection?
And what about your server? _________________ http://releases.pocketheaven.com |

Sorry for my bad english
my Server (Computer with Internet Connection) is a PIII 400 with an 20gb Harddrive so my greater workcomputer is for rom-management
but for your auto-update i can't connect direct to the net.

Aha - I think I understand. It is proxy support for 'net updates. I'll add that to the list.
Thanks _________________ http://releases.pocketheaven.com |
