I was thinking, about the addition of sound to single roms premade in SNESAdvance or Snezziboy. I came up with an idea of romhacking it in I don't know if it makes any sense or anything, but premaking some sounds (like a jumping mario sound) and attaching it to a button press could be doable I think, anybody would give me some literature on this maybe? _________________ http://mog123x.blogspot.com

Yeah, but you don't want the jump sound during the whole game, like for the options and game menu. You'd have to find where the game calls the sound and then jump to gbasoundplayer code that plays the custom raw sound. Like having another file with game memory addresses for sound mapped to the custom sound file player Could work, would probably be slow?
if $thislocation then
gbasoundplayer(jump.raw)
like that (gbasoundplayer doesn't exist) _________________ There are over 100 snes games playable on gba thanks to programmers Loopy and flubba, and all the superdat guys: sephiroth2k, darkcube, mog and all the rest. Great job guys! |
