|
|
hi all,
i started playing der langrisser on snezzids yesterday, and its really a incredible game.
but somehow the .sav files dont work with gbaexploader. when i startup gba exploader i can choose "write sram to save", as far as i understand it, this means that i can choose which slot to use for the next game. but since i want to load a previous .sav file i cancel this dialog.
after that there is the following dialog: "load save from sram", and i can see the last .sav file which was generated when i was playing. but when i load from sav file a new game is started. so my ingame save is lost...do ingame saves work on snezzids at all? or do i have to use some kind of save state function of snezzids instead of the regular ingame saves?
how can im access the save/load screen for snezzids? why does gba exploader have all this kind of sram options anyway? i thought managing save states is the task of the emulator...
thanks,
ninja

Turn off GBA ExpLoader's multi save feature. All you have to do is edit the GBA_ExpLoader.ini file in a text editor, remove the # from the appropriate line, and place the file in the root of the memory card (if it isn't already there).
This may not solve the problem, but it will remove a variable, and it will make GBA ExpLoader less annoying in the process. |

hi,
ok thanks. so that means that i would have one .sav slot per game right?
it really is a little bit confusing when working with gbaexploader, especially if you dont know what exactly the relation between sram and save files is...
ill try this later at home, but im afraid that the main problem will still be there: how can i save using snezzids? or is this a snezzids issue or an gba exploader issue?
right now i have no clue.
edit: i have a m3 real with gba expansion pack, so i can't use this qpc workaround either since thats only valid vor supercards...
bye,

EDIT:
damn, saving states does work as long as i dont play any other game. but after i start up another rom (using the M3 built in gba folder) and want to come back to langrisser using gbaexploader the savestate is lost.
what do i have to do to keep that save file or to make a backup of it?
in gba exp there are following options:
1. backup sram to sram.bin
2. restore sram from sram.bin
3. write sram to sav file
so what should i do after playing langrisser and saving? restart the ds, and make a backup of the sram to sram.bin?
and after i played other games, and come back just restoring sram from sram.bin and writing sram to save?
this is really gettting comlicated, everytime im happy that it worked out, there is another new problem arising my goal to being able to play langrisser is getting nearer only step by step....
what i did try:
1. backup sram to sram.bin
2. play another game
3. restore sram
but the savestate was still lost. do i have to add the step "write sram to save" after the restore?
can anybody help me out?
bye,
