I've been using Neo DS recently, and it works wonders but for one problem. The various versions of King of Fighters '99 are all missing pieces of text (like the Insert Coin text on the bottom or the text on the How To Play Screen). This wouldn't be an issue except the health bars and other "accessory" type things on the battle screen do not show up also. I read that Neo DS cannot render raster effects, is that the problem here? I'm not sure what raster effects are, so i'm not sure >.<

This thread will probably help you with that issue. But you will need a older set of neogeo roms, as the current ones in mame are most likely not compatible.
