Hate to break it to you, but it's not likely. The base CPU alone of the original stock MSX was like 3.6mhz, but only very few games ran off it. Quickly the MSX was upgraded to the Turbo models including the MSX2 line which most the fun stuff like Vampire Killer and other Konami titles used. The turbo'd version ran at x2 speed so almost up at that 8mhz level. This was for that alone, the unit also used a fair size of memory too, and also had it's sound processor as well.
I supposed rudimentary MSX1 support is a possibility, but going into the realm of MSX2 which would make it worth the effort would probably more of a pain than pleasure of work. |

yeah, i knew that emulating msx2 was barely as difficult as emulating snes. I hope someone can do like loopy so we can play f1 spirit 3d (it doesent matter if it hasn't sound)
But about msx 1 , are you telling that it can be surely emulated? Is it fissically possible? You know, if it could be, we could be able to play penguin adventure!!! You know some other games for the msx 1? could it be maze of galious? do you imagine playing it on a GBA?? WOW!
just dreaming.
SORRY ABOUT MY ENGLISH, BUT I'M FROM SPAIN. |

I suppose it's possible. Looking at the specs of the original unit it's got less memory and cpu (just looking at the number of mhz not chip type) that would fall into the range of the GBA.
If you can find someone to attempt it, or re-write maybe fMSX from scratch for GBA code I suppoe it could happen...as to how well no clue. |

| One of those 4 UK released GBC 'Konami Collectors Edition' packs have it as one of the 4 games inside. Not home so I'm not sure which, but I got them on cart there. |

Hate to revive dead topics...
But well, if anyone's out there and is looking for something to do...
Well, seems like there's more than just the topic starter that wants to see MSX emulation done on the GBA ^_^ (me)
MSX info
MSX2 info
MSX2+ info
Looking at the specs and stuff... Snes suddenly became a reality, so I suppose MSX would be possible too... |

SD Snatcher, Snatcher and Metal Gear and Metal Gear - Solid Snake are the reasons why I want to see MSX emulation...
But then again, those games could propably easier be remade from scratch for the GBA instead of making an emu... |
