Big Bird's Hide and Speak

Big Bird's Hide and Speak was a edutainment game on NES, published by Hi-Tech Expressions and based on the Sesame Street 'verse. For a while, this was Tepples' favorite game, although some other people consider it a waste of precious PCBs. ;p
In the game, Big Bird is voiced by Carroll Spinney. The game plays compressed waveforms of Carroll Spinney's voice by decompressing them in the NES CPU and writing samples directly to the NES's 7-bit DAC at CPU $4011. However, current handheld NES emulators such as PocketNES and nesDS do not emulate $4011, making the game unplayable. NesterDS is capable of running it with voice samples, but not without issues; it tends to temporarily corrupt the graphics when speech is happening, and the sound is choppy.
