Damian Yerrick, known online as tepples, is a GBA homebrew software developer and moderator of the gbadev.org, nesdev.com, and tetrisconcept.com forums. He is also one of the regulars at the Pocket Heaven Discussion Boards, Slashdot, Wikipedia, and (formerly) bemanistyle.com. Like other human members of these boards, he regularly gives "advice" that is often correct but sometimes inaccurate or a half-truth. Occasionally he tries to advertise his GBA homebrew programs at these boards.
In the first quarter of 2005, many users were discussing the compatibility of PocketNES with ROM dumps ("roms") of commercial NES games. His comments about the emulator's lack of support for voice samples played through register $4011, using the speech-heavy NES game Big Bird's Hide and Speak as an example, gave some members the impression of an unhealthy obsession with Sesame Street. On April Fools Day 2005, this alleged obsession was recognized with a special rank of "Big Bird".
Tepples' nicknames on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection involve the name "Pino". He uses:
- Tetris DS
- TC-Pino 960634-273662
- Mario Kart DS
- MssngPino 459628-418403
Pino is short for Pinocchio, but Pino is also Big Bird's Dutch cousin.[1] Irony is like goldy and bronzy.
